Abstract

In Albanian cinema, the representation of the female figure undergoes a significant transformation in the shift from the communist regime to the period of democratic transition. This article examines that change by selecting, among the various archetypes developed within socialist cinema, the partisan woman as an emblematic model and placing her in dialogue with the character of Ina in Bolero (1997), directed by Besnik Bisha. Through this comparison, it explores the extent to which historical change reshapes both the narrative function and the symbolic construction of the female body.
