New media-mediated interaction: rewriting the bonds between people with the language of social psychology

The advent and rapid development of communication technologies are incredibly changing the way we interact with others. If we think about the simple act of making a phone call, those of us and readers who were born in the last century will remember the coin-operated public telephones, the rotary dial for selecting the numbers to call; but they will also remember the effort required to recall those 6-7 numbers that were the contacts of friends, family members.
