This issue of Quaderni di comunità People, Education and Welfare in Society 5.0 talks about change, evolution and the development of human potential on an individual and collective level. The term ‘human flourishing’ refers to a person's ability to experience the various situations in life in a productive way, not as a moment of well-being, but as a pathway in which to pro-actively work towards full realisation, both as a person and as a member of a community.
In the era of digitisation, of (multiple, diffuse, artificial) intelligences, the search for the ‘human factor’ deserves careful re-evaluation. It is through the use of interdisciplinary models that unite individual and community that one can reflect on how digital transformations and evolutionary changes in a society can influence and be influenced by human flourishing. This concept thus involves both ethical and relational self-realisation, emphasising the importance of relationships with others.
The contributions included here explore various aspects of happiness and well-being, analysing both personal and social experiences.
