  • Human Flourishing for wellbeing in society, communities and organizations
    No. 3 (2024)

This issue of Quaderni di comunità People, Education and Welfare in Society 5.0 talks about change, evolution and the development of human potential on an individual and collective level. The term ‘human flourishing’ refers to a person's ability to experience the various situations in life in a productive way, not as a moment of well-being, but as a pathway in which to pro-actively work towards full realisation, both as a person and as a member of a community.

In the era of digitisation, of (multiple, diffuse, artificial) intelligences, the search for the ‘human factor’ deserves careful re-evaluation. It is through the use of interdisciplinary models that unite individual and community that one can reflect on how digital transformations and evolutionary changes in a society can influence and be influenced by human flourishing. This concept thus involves both ethical and relational self-realisation, emphasising the importance of relationships with others.

The contributions included here explore various aspects of happiness and well-being, analysing both personal and social experiences.

    Future Guidance
    No. 2 (2024)

The call ‘’Future Guidance‘’ focuses on a key theme in the current historical and social context, characterised by complexity and epochal changes. The theme is multifaceted and involves various institutional, cultural, social and economic levels. The richness and variety of the contributions present reinforces the dimension of guidance as a strategic educational strategy for the formation of the new generations, which need to believe in the future, to look ahead with confidence and to withstand difficulties with the necessary strength to face challenges. Central, in this regard, is a new training model for operators and professionals, who know how to look to the future with a spirit of openness and welcome, and ‘orientate’ young people. The paper therefore offers itself as an opportunity and a resource to all stakeholders, to determine the next strategic choices.

  • Teaching Enhanced Learning for Engaging and Inclusive Learning
    No. 2 (2023)

This issue of the journal addresses the topic of "Teaching Enhanced Learning for Engaging and Inclusive Learning" in the digital age. Within this issue, the focus is exactly on the assessment methodologies and strategies activated and activated in the digital education perspective, with special attention to best practices in different educational contexts: from elementary school to university.

  • Active citizenship for the digital society. Expertise, best practices and teaching in the digital era
    No. 1 (2023)

This report is one of the outcomes of the ERASMUS + project RE-EDUCO (Rethinking EDUcation COmpetencies. Expertise, best practices, and teaching in Digital Era) which the DITES research centre, Link Campus University, coordinated in partnership with the Cyprus Computer Society (Cyprus), the Espoon SeudunKoulutuskuntayhtyma Omnia (Finland), Hellenic Open University (Greece), the Italian Digital Revolution (Italy) and Insomnia Consulting (Spain). RE-EDUCO emanates from a virtuous collaboration between the worlds of school-university, work, and professions. The central idea of the project is the development of teaching models aimed at overcoming the theory-practice dichotomy, according to the service-learning approach, which aims to integrate in practice, within a balanced path, teaching/learning and intervention to intercept and respond to the needs and problems present in the community, allowing students to learn and put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired. The guiding value of the project was "to take care of things'', the environment, the people, one another, regarding didactic, pedagogical, and social models that have made history and which today, more than ever, represent an essential point of reference to renewing the education system from within.

  • Education and society in the post-pandemic future
    No. 3 (2022)

This issue of Community Notebooks. People, Education and Welfare in the 5.0 society proposes an analysis of the global phenomenon of the Covid-19 pandemic on the educational, psychological and social level, which in addition to the inevitable emergence of contradictions and problematic nodes in the broadest and most important socio-economic contexts, has, however, stimulated processes of adaptation and crisis management, together with opportunities for transformation and innovation across the board: in the broadest communities and institutions, in social groups and, of course, at the individual level. Through the account of the crisis experienced and concrete experiences, it is possible to grasp signs of new perspectives and opportunities, in addition to those tools and resources already present and consolidated, which are beginning to design a new model of sustainable and inclusive development.

    No. 2 (2022)

In this issue of Community Notebooks. People, Education and Welfare in the 5.0 society, entitled Il presente e il futuro della società digitale. Lights and shadows of an inevitable transition, digitality and its applications in the scholastic, training, academic and organisational spheres constitute the reference areas through which we intend to describe the real applicability of digital processes to teaching-learning paths and to the dynamics of the labour market and associated life in order to be able to describe the scope and innovativeness of what is being experienced and realised in current societal contexts. A reflection that always intends to maintain a critical gaze so as not to fall victim to the drifts of technological determinism, with the intention of illustrating the lights and shadows of an unstoppable process that can only be guided through an adequate understanding of the complexity of the variables involved.

This issue, therefore, is dedicated to recounting the attempts and strategies to recover from the devastating social and economic effects of the global pandemic. The trait that unites all the contributions in the columns and essays is identifiable in the search for the creative, reflective and generative drive that the individual is able to activate, drawing on his or her personal and community resources, to cope with crisis situations. The overview that we wish to offer aims at observing the collective effort in this time of uncertainty, aimed at seeking new and essential forms of cooperation to tackle complex problems and common difficulties.

  • Education, work and society in times of the global pandemic
    No. 1 (2021)

Community Notebooks. People, Education and Welfare in the 5.0 society represents the challenge that we, as observers and scholars of society, wanted to take on, in order to try to make a contribution to the reflection that the complexity of the current period requires. The desire to measure ourselves against this challenge has matured during the pandemic crisis: the first issue sees the light at a time when we are still in the midst of the social, health and economic drama. Never has the fragility of modern society become more evident than in this period. Since the Enlightenment, it has made a vow of faith to science and technology, first kneeling at the altar of economics and then at that of financial speculation, producing the paradoxical effects of wealth without redistribution, which is amply testified to in the scientific literature and in the measurement indicators commonly adopted in studies on social inequalities.
